Providence Academy Girls Basketball Wins Section 5AA Title as Greenway Sets State Scoring Record

The Providence Academy Lions captured the Section 5AA championship on Friday night with an impressive 98–60 victory over the Maranatha Christian Academy Mustangs, punching their ticket to the state tournament once again.

The night was historic for senior guard Maddyn Greenway, who scored 43 points and became the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota girls high school basketball history. With her performance, Greenway raised her career total to 5,505 points during her six-year varsity career.

Greenway broke the previous record held by Tori Oehrlein in the first half of the game, adding another milestone to an already remarkable career.

Providence Academy controlled the game throughout, using strong offensive production and defensive pressure to pull away for the decisive win. The victory secures another section championship for the Lions and sends them back to the state tournament.
