Maddyn Greenway Named Gatorade Player of the Year & Miss Basketball 2026

Maddyn Greenway continues to make history.

The Providence Academy senior has been named the 2025–26 Gatorade Minnesota Girls Basketball Player of the Year, in addition to earning Miss Basketball honors for 2026—two of the highest individual recognitions in the state.

The Gatorade Player of the Year award is one of the most prestigious honors in high school sports, recognizing excellence in athletic performance, academics, and community impact. Greenway now joins an elite group of past winners, including Candace Parker and Paige Bueckers.

Greenway delivered a historic senior season, leading the Lions to a 23-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A State Tournament. She averaged an incredible 36.2 points, 9.2 assists, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.3 steals per game, while surpassing 1,000 points in a season for the fourth consecutive year—an unprecedented achievement in Minnesota basketball history.

A McDonald’s All-American Game selection, Greenway also set the state record for career points with over 5,500 and counting, along with the all-time assists record.

Beyond the court, she has made an impact in the community through her involvement with Letters of Love and the REACH Program, while maintaining a strong 3.72 GPA.

Greenway has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Kentucky next season.

Providence Academy congratulates Maddyn on an extraordinary career and these well-deserved honors.
